“To see is to forget the name of the thing one sees.” Paul Valéry
The small sculptures are constructed with found cardboard and perform as decorative architectural elements throughout the gallery. Hung against the ceiling, with the absence of nametags, the works easily get lost in the group show. If seen at all, most wonder if they are permanent fixtures of the gallery despite the humble medium. I hope this act of seeing and wondering will lead the viewer, for a few moments, to perceive the act of perceiving. |
