Had I been kidnapped by myself? is inspired by classical animation, panoramas and Muybridge’s 1887 “Animal Locomotion“ studies. The Landscape Object is 62“ X 27.“ The top portion of the Object is the Rolling Landscape that continually rotate. The Rolling Landscape is a collage of images set seamlesly by combining drawing. The base of the Landscape is attached to a motor hidden inside the casing underneath. The Rolling Landscape rotates in sync with the projections of the walking crowd and the flying bird.
The installation is esentially folowing the flight of the bird. The bird is an animation inspired by Muybridge’s “Animal Locomotion“ studies. While the Landscape is rotating the image of the bird and the crowd of people walking is projected on to hanging stationary screens in front of the landscape using a video projector. |
